Friendship Heights Urban Network (“FHUN”)
is an all volunteer group formed in the 2006. FHUN is dedicated to building
the community of young professionals young parents and families, and
students in the Friendship Heights, MD and DC area. In FHUN, we define
“young professional” quite loosely, as we have members in their 20’s
through their 50’s. FHUN’s primary goal is to help transition Friendship
Heights into a destination spot for people of all ages and backgrounds,
and to convince people to think of Friendship Heights as a place to
go for great shopping, eating and fun, as opposed to a place that people
merely pass through on their way to D.C. or Bethesda.
As a general proposition FHUN tries to have an event every month and
a half or so – always in the Friendship Heights area – and we continue
to reach out to new members, as well as businesses in the community.
To date, FHUN has worked with many restaurants in the community, primarily
on happy hours and special events (such as our famous “Anti-Valentine’s
Day" party and annual summer BBQ), but we have recently grown enough
to begin branching out to new areas. FHUN works with the Village of
Friendship Heights to organize, plan and run the area’s very successful,
Taste of Friendship Heights.
FHUN is an all volunteer network, without any independent funding,
and is composed of a Board of Directors, as well as a number of volunteers,
all of whom generously volunteer their time to the community.
